Orlando, FL - The five-room cabin in Athens, Georgia which was believe to have been the inspiration for the B-52's song, "Love Shack" was gutted by a fire on December 17th. B-52's singer Kate Person lived in the cabin during the 1970s.
The cabin was undergoing rennovations when the fire broke out, luckily the cabin was unoccupied at the time. Allisa Huestis was planning to move into it the next week. Allisa said "The B-52's told me it was the original Love Shack and the place where they wrote "Rock Lobster"".
Fire Inspector Reginald Hunter says the cabin was not hooked up for utilities, so faulty electricity or a gas leak is not to blame. He says building supplies used for the renovation were stolen, which makes the fire suspicious.
All that's left of the cabin is the burned-out frame and the infamous tin roof.
