I have meniere's disease. I was diagnosed when I was 23. I'm 30 now. I've lost a job because of it. It destroyed my marriage (it wasn't a very good marriage) and it frustrates me. But I am Pagan and a witch/shaman, and I find this condition helps me a great deal with certain magical activities. For instance, it is much easier for me, compared to a normal person to go into a trance. After all, I leave my body accidentally on occasion. It took practice, but now I can do it at will, though I can't stop the "accidents". This allows me to invoke spirits quite easily, travel on the astral plane and perform all sorts of magical things that most people find much more complicated or need the help of "herbal spirits" to accomplish. I am on a very strict diet. I am restricted in my sodium, caffein and sugar intake and I don't drink at all or use any mind altering substances. I also don't eat MSG, artificial colors or sweeteners. I would be completely chemical free but I have to take antivert on occasion and use things like motrin pretty often. Because my condition is so chemically sensitive, I cook from scratch whenever I can and make my own household cleaning materials. I have two children, a dog and a cat. I work as a data entry clerk and I try to work out whenever I can. We go to the zoo pretty often and have bought a (seasonal) share of a farm that we go work at sometimes. I manage several websites and would like to be a writer someday.
