First, please excuse any grammatical and/or spelling/editing errors. I try, but at times everything written appears great, and it is not until later that I discover some glaring errors. Ah well, such is life.

I am Christine and I am responsible for all the articles that are posted to this site. Years ago, a friend and I decided we were going to start a rudimentary (very rudimentary given the amount of HMTL experience I have) website to discuss music, fashion and local events. Gradualy we began to acquire more contributors, which enabled us to broaden swanktrendz' focus.

Please realize that swanktrendz.com is NOT a 'for profit' ezine - the writers involved are strictly voluntary. This way we are writing for ourselves and not driven by any advertisers. We decided to go the non profit route in the beginning as we felt many local (and international) artists/writers/musicians/ etc. were not getting exposure because they did not fit the general media's 'criteria'. Not fair, we decided. Someone always needs to represent the underdog.

As well, the business icons you may encounter on our main site are strictly our choices. If we liked something the organizations have done or produced, we give them extra exposure.

Of course, that's not to say that down the line I will not accept financial offers. I suppose everything has its price, including swanktrendz.

Finally I also created Swanktrendz tblog because there wasn't anything on the web that was addressing our specific interests (or the information available was too limited). My friends and I wanted to explore the relationship between society - fashion - music - personal experiences - political fallout etc. Everything in society is intertwined. Popular culture merely reflects where society is at that moment.
